He still hasn’t said he likes me he reached out once over the phone when I had been off sick.This but sucks only cause I assumed he’d use that opportunity to talk to me more out side of work. But he hasn’t .
It's less about being an aged-fashioned gentleman (while that can be part of it) and more that he wants you to feel good and do something good to suit your needs.

Don’t Enable every feeling be your guide…just become a friendly coworker, and when that is just too difficult to manage emotionally then have him have a ride to work with someone else so your heart can move on.
He will possibly just slip it into the dialogue. If you're used to guys who play games and slide into your DMs randomly, this could be a shock.
Just be careful that this isn't all he does when you two talk, as it can be a sign he's an emotionally unavailable male.
